Once Upon a Time...
There used to be a trees. What exactly was a tree you ask? A tree had a trunk, it can be white, or red but is mostly considered to be brown. An old tree had green moss, creeping up the sides. In the summer trees would be filled with bright green leaves. The very sight of them would make you feel young. In the spring, the cherry trees would fill with pink blossoms that were soft and beautiful. In the fall, the leaves would change to colors; yellow, red, orange, before falling to the ground. In the winter the branches of trees would be bare, all except for a type of tree called evergreens. Evergreens had pine needles instead of leaves, and they stayed green all season long. In the winter, people used to use a live evergreen as a Christmas tree.
This is our future. Speaking of trees in the past tense. Deforestation is the act of destroying our forests for lumber, or space. Deforestation destroys animal habitats and speeds up global warming. Let's look at the stats.
We lose over 18 million acres of forest every YEAR.
Over half of the world's tropical forest have been cleared away
15% of greenhouse gases are produced by deforestation
Destroying our trees every second, our future looks very bleak and dark without a solution. What's the solution? That's not my job, look it up. Our lord and savior Wikipedia could probably help you out.
Just go out and plant some trees and stuff.
